Today, everyone is concerned about procrastination. Have you ever wanted to watch funny videos on the internet instead of starting a new project? Have you ever wanted to go out with your friends knowing that you had a big project to present the next day?
Procrastination means putting off a task for a short or extended period of time, often in favor of doing something more enjoyable. Procrastination can lead to delayed tasks, low team morale, constant changes to project deadlines, poor quality deliverables and so on. Today, I want to help you. I know everyone is concerned by procrastination
We all procrastinate from time-to-time. The trick is to manage and curtail the impact of procrastination, both personally and professionally.
Why do students procrastinate ? What is there a need here?
This tendancy to procrastinate and scatter would affect half of the students. "Over the last ten years, new technologies have accelerated time and established a reign of immediacy where one must constantly react to requests", explains educational psychologist Brigitte Prot.
This has led to a decline in attention and concentration, especially for those who were already struggling to manage their time. "The risk is to let yourself be swallowed up, without knowing how to remedy it," notes this former teacher.
The origin of the problem is an anxiety about a task that is considered insurmountable, the fear of not being up to the task. Thus, we take refuge in simpler tasks or tasks that give us more pleasure. This is an emotional disorder and to be able to treat it, we must already be aware of it. And procrastination software could help.
The solution to getting to work is to concentrate on one task at a time. Our brain has to break down a complex task into subtasks to make it easier to process. Removing all types of distraction with this software would allow efficient and controlled work.
Once installed on his computer, the software would allow to block all the sites listed according to the user over a given period of time. For example, Facebook, Youtube, Netflix. There is also the possibility that this software could be linked to our calendar of courses, exams, review period.
The objective of my project is to create clear and elegant project schedules, organise task management, set deadlines and priorities on this platform
First of all, this software will have a specific target : students. Here is an example of code to add some datas regarding students in our database
THE NEEDS : In order to meet the multiple needs of the user, it is therefore necessary to be able to design, create and maintain an information system that brings together all of the information necessary to the student's life, which makes it accessible to the actors, allows it to be continuously updated, and exploited in multiple forms. This is why I decided to create a database modelling the management of student calendars.
With the creation of this database, it should be possible to access their educational level, training and workload. The software would thus adapt the requirements according to the level of the student.
The objective is to target a certain population. In this case, the database would select only young people aged 16 to 25 (from baccalaureate to higher education). In fact, procrastination affects "around 50% of students, compared to an average of 30% of the adult population", says psychotherapist Bruno Koeltz.

The second objective is to maximize your team's productivity and keep your projects on track. Thus, the database will have access to the student's agenda/calendar :
Having access to the calendar will also allow to send alerts to the student for different deadlines, priorities, exams. These little reminders are effective for organization. This database should cover the majority of updates, group meetings and homeworks to be done.
For example, here is an example of a database of a planning software.Bubble Plan is an online staff management tool which save 66% of your management time. Users can manage their database, work and personal data, put some alerts. All in one solution. Planning over time, setting objectives, managing resources, distributing tasks, costing and, of course, monitoring the success of the project, are on the agenda. As a complete tool on the market, they easily integrate with a variety of other popular business software that people use everyday.
The aim would be to clean up the environment and set objectives. The student could set daily, weekly or monthly objectives according to the schedule on the database. The student could personalize his agenda, add breaks, outings during the day. Planning the day with precise timetables and objectives will enable students to meet their deadlines on time. They will have access to :
For example, at the end of the week, the student will have this type of report but much more detailed :
done from Canva
The database may include different boxes:
The student will also know how much time he has spent on the homework, if he has fulfilled his objective. Every week, he will receive a statistical report of his activities by e-mail. He can customise the productivity objectives to be achieved and receive points based on his success. The database will include some elements of the Rescue time software. That is to say, automatic time-tracking, distraction blocking, powerful time management tools and much more ! You have the possibility to :
Time is your most valuable resource. Save it !
